About its form
“The buildings will take the form of a mandala, symbolising Zangdok Palri, the pure land of Guru Rinpoche”
(Dzogchen Ranyak Patrul Rinpoche)
The buildings have been constructed and decorated in the purest Tibetan buddhist tradition, contributing thus to maintain the Tibetan culture alive and to render it accessible to the world. Interior space has been designed to welcome modern installations and equipments and to create all the conditions favorable to study and practice.
The Zangdok Palri Institute is directly inspired from Zangdok Palri representations, the Glorious Copper Coloured Mountain, the pure land of Guru Rinpoche.
It comprises a perimeter wall which supports 108 stupas. The central building is a structure of 3 levels comprising a library, classrooms, assembly halls, staff and student accomodation and shrine rooms. All in a pleasant, harmoniously landscaped environment.
